Haven't been able to pull it up at all. Thanks.
This chef is amazing and his wife is equally talented in her business savvy ways. We have had the pleasure and honor of dining here multiple times and upon first bite it was our absolute favorite dining destination. Entering this establishment is like walking into a gem you would find in Europe. The simple elegance of their little masterpieces ambience is equally as beautiful as the plating. I appreciate this husband and wife team dearly and always eagerly await my next meal with them. I am certain their family will achieve soul and business related success and all the accolades a team like this can earn. I do hope though there is always a spot for us whenever the world does happen to find out about the level of talent they possess 😊♥️🐾Michelin starS are in their future. I would bet the house on it!♥️
As a part of my line of work, I go out to dinner often in various parts of the country. This restaurant by far, has become a favorite of mine and has the makings of a huge success story on par with Dinex, Dardin, and other groups. The food is true to the owners roots and his passion speaks through every plate. The service is AAA 5 diamond quality, and the ambiance is light and comfortable, I always feel at home here. For a fantastic quality meal and service in a casual and sophisticated environment, this is the kind of place you want to spend your evening. I highly recommend it as a guest and as an investor adviser I recommend people take a serious look at this companies business model because you can tell if a restaurant is gonna make it or not based on their staffs attitude and attention to detail and somehow these guys have figured out how to prioritize these above all which makes the dining experience something special.
We just enjoyed our first restaurant ( dine-in) meal since quarantine restrictions began in March and, we could not have selected a better establishment to enjoy it in. Safety first: every staff person was wearing a mask employing socially distancing, as were patrons inside ( until eating after wait staff delivered the food) and curbside; tables were at least 8 feet apart; hand sanitizer was available and handi-wipes were on the table;and contactless or disposable menus are available. The MEAL was exquisite! Fresh, thoughtful ingredients, elegantly presented, and delicious! Every course was a treat. We will be back on every trip to the Foothills. Worth a trip from anywhere, and, if you are lucky enough to live or summer locally, they offer curbside takeout and both lunch and dinner.
Lovely lunch stop in the middle of a metric century bicycle ride (~6,000' of climbing). Great burger and local Pilsner!
I can't say enough good things about the food here. We were nervous coming into an empty restaurant around lunch time on a Saturday, but I think we just hit it at a lull in customers. Thankfully, we took the gamble and tried it anyway. Don't let the cloth table covers scare you off, the staff was very welcoming. The chef's special was a honey and herb blackened chicken penne with aged blue cheese creme sauce, and I'm glad we went with it. It was so rich and creamy! Fingers crossed that it makes it to the permanent menu! The she-crab soup and short rib sandwich were nothing short of amazing. Will definitely add this place to our routine!
I have to echo the strong review of support my husband just gave. We actually told our server Melanie that we would leave a review of our lovely experience and were cautioned that some reviews here are illegitimate negative reviews from a begrudged former employee. I hate that because this establishment is perfect in the service, the meals, and the atmosphere and it’s a pity that anyone would try and besmirch the good reputation of this beautiful restaurant. I have already made plans to spend our sons college graduation here and anticipate that we will be spending many a celebratory evening with family and friends at Azalea’s.
Fantastic food and service! Enjoyed the whole experience with my wife and mother-in-law. Garrett Tallent is talented and his crew is well experienced. Definitely recommend💯. See you on Valentines Day!
Incredible. Growing up on the coast of SC, I’m grateful to have found a very professional & delicious low country French bistro. They always go above and beyond. The food is always AMAZING & and service staff always gives their best energy.
Remarkable. This establishment is not only a wonderfully romantic accompaniment to the historic town it inhabits but the service and food are award worthy. Every dish was better than the last and a stunning interpretation of classics I’ve known and loved for a lifetime. We understood from the staff that Chef Tallent intends to publish a cook book and I cannot wait to place it on my shelf of cook books alongside equally talented chefs as I’m certain this restaurant and chef are reaching for the stars and will soon catch them. What blind luck that we stumbled upon this gem in the mountains, and we didn’t even come up to go gem mining! Thank you again Azalea Bistro, we will return with gusto
I ate at this restaurant nearly six months ago and I still think about it. The food, service, decor, and location were all fabulous.
This is a foodie fancy restaurant. The chefs appetizer was delicious- lentil based salad. It just wasnt what we were looking for...after waiting 15 min to be presented with a menu, it was much fancier than we expected. Cheeseburger $17, confi $25, and braised short rib $30, 8 courses of options, all of which sounded delicious, just not our style.
Absolutely wonderful. My server, Emma, was incredibly professional, and helpful considering this was my first experience at this restaurant. I only had the house cab and it was exactly what I want in a Cabernet. The watercress and beet was fantastic, appropriate proportions of all ingredients including the dressing, no flavor overpowering another. The vegetable risotto, again, perfect proportions and fantastic flavors. Will definitely be returning to this restaurant and recommending to friends and family.
As a lover of fine dining and French cuisine I feel like I was lied to, and forced into a situation I did not want or enjoy. This food is not French at all, the more well off people in a tiny country town like Saluda might believe them that this food is high end but I’ve had a better steak at Outback. If you are looking for a far better meal at a much more reasonable price definitely hit up the Purple Onion.
Now that's what I call Southern Hospitality! I gotta say im kinda shocked this place hadn't been in Garden & Gun or Southern Living but they said its less than a year old so we will see. The attention, manners, and respect of the staff for guests is exactly what you expect of a quaint southern french fusion bistro in the mountains and they were so friendly! It was busy buut we got a table right away, ordered quickly after getting a "gratis bite" from the chef to excite the pallet (Bison Tartar which was amazing) and got our salads and soups within 10 minutes and Entrees within 20. The waiters knew great wine pairs to our orders and when we were through the chef came and talked to us! I told him I hope he opens a restaurant in Colombia so I can eat there every day, its so good! You've got to go try it
Delicious food, great wine and cozy atmosphere. Friendly service. Husband had fresh fish which he loved. I had a simple ceasar salad and french onion soup. Portions just right and appetizer that chef made looked yummy but I don't like truffles.
Stopped in for a light lunch while passing through. The James Beard sign caught my eye. At 1:30 pm the restaurant was empty. An absolute gem in the rural part of the country. Part of a quirky and charming hamlet with all manners of charming “old-times stores and establishments. We had the braised pork belly and fried green tomato. They gave us 6 big pieces of glazed and braised meat which is melt in your good. The 1 slice of fried green tomato was not breaded which was refreshing and topped with the usual pimento cheese. Shrimp was fresh and not overcooked, grits were stone ground and country style -Thick not too creamy. Definitely recommend people come in for a gourmet foodie treat!!
I NEVER give restaurants five stars but this one is worth TEN. Ate at Husk in Greenville a few nights before my lunch here while visiting friends and I was blown away at how much better, valuable, and professional this place in the middle of nowhere was. Makes sense, the chef worked with Sean Brock of Husk but ive said it before and ill say again, skip the big name restaurants and come check out the new school chefs like this that have something to prove cause they are well worth it. Capped off my visit amazingly and ill be back
Pricey but really fabulous. I mean REALLY. Honestly. Fabulous. We loved our meal. The wine, the service, the food - all excellent. The 3 of us were $180 but completely and totally worth it. Surprised to find such a world class meal in Saluda North Carolina. (With all respects to Saluda)
